{"id":4614,"date":"2023-09-04T15:05:29","date_gmt":"2023-09-04T15:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/volleyballvnl.com\/?p=4614"},"modified":"2023-09-04T15:05:29","modified_gmt":"2023-09-04T15:05:29","slug":"myanmar-military-kills-33-in-monastery-bloodbath","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/volleyballvnl.com\/?p=4614","title":{"rendered":"Myanmar military kills 33 in monastery bloodbath"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Myanmar military killed 30 civilians, and three Buddhist monks, at a monastery in Nam Hnain village in Pinlaung township in Shan State at 4pm on Saturday.<br\/>Earlier that day, at around 11am, the army \u2013 or junta \u2013 carried out air strikes and shelling on the village, the place Pa\u2019O refugees had been reported to be sheltering, burning down around 50 homes.<br\/>The victims were reportedly hiding within the monastery after being displaced from their houses.<br\/>Local resistance group, the Karreni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF), launched graphic and bloody photographs of piles of our bodies, with a number of gunshot wounds, a number of the victims wearing orange Buddhist robes.<br\/>Chindwin News Agency stories that the KNDF said\u2026<br\/>\u201cThe junta requested all the people who took shelter in the monastery to come out and brutally shot them all.\u201d<br\/>A KNDF spokesperson informed the Kantarawaddy Times\u2026<br\/>\u201cIt was like that Burma Army made them line up in front of the monastery and brutally shot them all, together with the monks.\u201d<br\/>Aerial pictures of the airstrike aftermath picture the village consumed by fires and huge clouds of smoke.<br\/>Fighting between the junta and defence forces has been happening for around two weeks in Pinlaung Township, with heavy fighting breaking out between the junta and People\u2019s Defence Force (PDF) on Thursday, reviews BNI Online.<br\/>Thousands of individuals in Pinlaung township have been displaced.<br\/>On Friday, the day earlier than the bloodbath, BNI Online wrote an article entitled, \u201cOngoing conflict persists in Pinlaung, Shan State.\u201d BNI Online reported\u2026<br\/>\u201cSince February 24th, ongoing conflicts have taken place between Military Council Troops and the Pa-O National Organisation (PNO) and the PDF. <br\/>\u201cThe conflicts have resulted in the lack of four civilian lives and the destruction of many houses.
