Philippines airport officers steal 5,a hundred baht from Thai vacationer

Two customs officers at Manila Airport within the Philippines had been caught on video stealing 5,a hundred baht from a Thai tourist at a baggage verify counter.
The video of the 2 customs officers stealing money was posted on Facebook by Piyawat Gunlayaprasit on February 22.
Piyawat reported that he heard another Thai vacationer, identified as Kitja Tbabtim, shouting that his money had disappeared whereas he was in line ready for a baggage check. The officers claimed that there were no CCTV cameras in the space and urged Kitja to contact the lost and found department.
However, Piywat seen two airport officers speaking to one another suspiciously, so he decided to record a video of them. The video revealed a feminine officer stuffing something, believed to be money, into her colleague’s pocket.
Piyawat decided handy the video to Kitja. They then confirmed the video to the offending officers, who admitted to the theft and returned the cash. The feminine officer also requested Piyawat to delete the video, and he pretended to delete it earlier than exposing it on social media.
Piyawat said in his Facebook post…

The victim, Kitja, later up to date the situation on Facebook, saying that he despatched the video proof to the police and the airport division of the Philippines. The officers within the video were briefly suspended and banned from entering the airport while further investigation into the case is ongoing.
The two Thai travellers have been believed to be at Manila Airport for transit flights to Japan. Most Thai vacationers visiting Japan go for a connecting flight to Manila as a cheaper travel choice.
This isn’t the primary time customs officers at Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport have been accused of stealing from vacationers. Two weeks in the past, Thai tourist Saruta Jansila warned individuals to be wary of light-fingered officers at Manila Airport.
