Tourists arriving in Thailand will quickly be permitted to remain in the kingdom for longer. Today, Government Spokesperson Traisulee Traisornkul announced that Thailand’s Cabinet had permitted the short-term extension of each visa on arrival stays and visa exemption stays.
The government hopes the extensions will stimulate tourism and the economy, which continues to be recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects that the common vacationer will stay within the kingdom for an additional five days because of the extensions. If each vacationer spends 4000 – 5000 baht per day on average, they’ll pump an additional 20,000 baht into the economic system than they normally would, the TAT stated.
Thailand’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration agreed to the extension of visa on arrival and visa exemptions at their meeting with the Thai authorities yesterday, mentioned the spokesperson.
