The Sizewell B nuclear energy station is the only pressurised water reactor within the UK.
The energy station requires filtered sea water throughout operation and the model new Amarinth vertical in-line tremendous duplex pumps delivered to EDF are to replace present but now obsolete filtration display screen spray pumps for the drum screen wash process. The secure area rated pumps underwent a full suite of non-destructive analysis (NDE) and carry 3.1 material certification for traceability. The pumps have been also delivered to a decent 30-week deadline to coincide with a planned maintenance schedule minimising disruption on the energy station.
